Chenouceau

Chenonceau

Built like a bridge crossing the river Cher, the «Lady’s Castle», in the 16th century, was the object of much jealousy between two rivallying women – Catherine de Medicis, and Diane de Poitier. One was the wife of King Henry II and, the other, his mistress. The gardens are quite interesting to see. Planning your visit outside of «high season» is preferable, if one wishes to take full advantage of the visit.
